This Sunday's movie is Pete's Dragon: Mr. Meacham, a woodcarver, delights local children with stories of a mysterious dragon that lives deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. His daughter Grace believes these are just tall tales, until she meets Pete, a 10-year-old orphan who says he lives in the woods with a giant, friendly dragon. With help from a young girl named Natalie, Grace sets out to investigate if this fantastic claim can be true.

  12. Opening of Abraham Lincoln Pop-up Exhibit

    The Waukegan History Museum is hosting a pop-up Exhibit about our 16th president entitled "Abraham Lincoln: A man of his time, a man for all times" that will run through January 19th. This exhibit traces Lincoln's path from a self-educated, rough-hewn lawyer with virtually no administrative experience, to the president who guided a divided nation through the crises of slavery, secession and Civil War. The Waukegan History Museum hopes that presenting Lincoln's own words in speeches, letters and proclamations will encourage a deeper understanding of our 16th president's life, accomplishments and legacy.
