    Join ACADEMIA CULTURAL XILOTL for a short educational presentation on DIA DE MUERTOS then decorate sugar skulls. Decorate as many sugar skulls as you would like. All materials included.   2. Migrant Quilt Project Exhibit

    October 13, 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ Urban Edge

    The Migrant Quilt Project is a grassroots, collaborative effort of artists, quilt makers, and activists to express compassion for migrants from Mexico and Central America who died in the Southern Arizona deserts on their way to create better lives for themselves and their families. Materials used in the quilts were collected at migrant layup sites used for rest and shelter on established trails in the Sonoran Desert. Seventeen quilts are on display at Urban Edge through October 14th. The exhibit is open Friday through Sunday, noon to 7pm. Groups and classes may arrange times outside of set times by contacting the Waukegan Arts Council at (847) 920-4ARTS.

  6. Northside/Southside Players Present: The Marx Brothers 1933 Radio Show: Flywheel, Shyster and Flywheel

    The Northside/Southside Players present a live radio theater re-creation of the 1932-33 Marx Brothers comedy radio program “Flywheel, Shyster, and Flywheel!” The Players will perform two hilarious half-hour scripts from the 1932-33 radio series–“A Reward for Foo Foo” and “Ravelli, the Jailbird”– plus additional dialogue written by David Drazin. Both shows will also feature music from the original Marx Brothers’ movies and TV shows, performed by the cast!
