  3. Arts & Wellness Fair

    Come to a free community event promoting various aspects of art and wellness as part of Waukegan's community art series "Health is Life." This year's fair will feature classes, vendors and performances; including Zumba, quilting, dance and self-defense classes along with the Community Art Bus and a Health expressive room for kids. Also onsite will be BlueCross BlueShield, ChiroOne, CVS Pharmacy, and Waukegan Township.

  7. Migrant Quilt Project Exhibit

    October 6, 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ Urban Edge

    The Migrant Quilt Project is a grassroots, collaborative effort of artists, quilt makers, and activists to express compassion for migrants from Mexico and Central America who died in the Southern Arizona deserts on their way to create better lives for themselves and their families. Materials used in the quilts were collected at migrant layup sites used for rest and shelter on established trails in the Sonoran Desert. Seventeen quilts are on display at Urban Edge through October 14th. The exhibit is open Friday through Sunday, noon to 7pm. Groups and classes may arrange times outside of set times by contacting the Waukegan Arts Council at (847) 920-4ARTS.

  8. Chicago Bassoon Quartet

    The Chicago Bassoon Quartet was founded by Sue Nigro in Chicago and their members are actively involved in commissioning and premiering pieces by composers currently writing works for small ensembles. Their music library has over 130 selections - in a variety of forms, styles, and arrangements - which produces programs which are eclectic, dynamic, and memorable. Enjoy this season concert of the LCCA season!

  9. Ginuwine with special guest Corey Pieper

    October 6, 7:30 PM - 10:30 PM @ Genesee Theatre

    A smooth crooner on the R&B/soul scene from the mid-1990s to early 2000s, Ginuwine made the ladies swoon with his silky vocals and seductive jams. In 1996, he teamed up with superstar beatmaker Timbaland on his debut album, Ginuwine...the Bachelor, and again on his 1999 release, 100% Ginuwine. Both albums went double platinum. His follow-up efforts The Life and The Senior went platinum and gold respectively. He was nominated three times for an American Music Award as Favorite Male R&B Artist and earned his first Grammy® nomination in 2014 as part of TGT, a supergroup that included R&B artists Tank and Tyrese. Milwaukee's rising star Corey Pieper opens the evening with his enticing blend of rap and R&B.

    Something weird is happening. Humans are being chased and bitten by some sort of ghoulish creatures. It’s the plot of the cult-classic movie “Night of the Living Dead,” produced in 1968, and is going to be performed live at Three Brothers Theatre. This time it will be set in Waukegan in the year 2018. Are the hairs standing up on the back of your neck? Come to the show, it's safe at the Theatre. Really.
