  2. Run with the Bulldogs 5K

    May 20, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Sheridan Road at Grand Avenue

    Waukegan High School's sophomore class will be hosting Run with the Bulldogs, benefitting the Leukemia Research Foundation. The race begins in downtown Waukegan near the intersection of Sheridan Road and Grand Avenue. The course runs on Sheridan Road, just north of Grand Avenue and runs along Waukegan’s Near North Historic District. Trophies to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and females overall and masters level (40+). The top three teams will also receive a trophy.

  3. Waukegan Symphony Orchestra Presents: The Germanic Tradition

    May 20, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Waukegan High School Trapp Auditorium

    Some of the biggest names in classical music include Mozart, Brahms, Beethoven and Bach, and they were all German or Austrian, said Stephen Blackwelder, director of the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra. Orchestra conductors the world over continue to showcase these composers’ works — and though Blackwelder likes to present music by composers of other ethnic origins as well, he decided to promote the Germanic tradition at the Waukegan Orchestra’s final concert of the season.
