Brought to you by the Waukegan Historical Society and the Waukegan Park District. No registration required, just drop-in.

  2. Migrant Quilt Project Exhibit

    September 21, 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ Urban Edge

    The Migrant Quilt Project is a grassroots, collaborative effort of artists, quilt makers, and activists to express compassion for migrants from Mexico and Central America who died in the Southern Arizona deserts on their way to create better lives for themselves and their families. Materials used in the quilts were collected at migrant layup sites used for rest and shelter on established trails in the Sonoran Desert. Seventeen quilts are on display at Urban Edge through October 14th. The exhibit is open Friday through Sunday, noon to 7pm. Groups and classes may arrange times outside of set times by contacting the Waukegan Arts Council at (847) 920-4ARTS.

  6. Dr. Hector Rasgado-Flores + The Mariachi Kids

    Dr. Hector Rasgado-Flores returns to our Riverside Room for a special performance–FREE for all to attend! Join us as we welcome him in celebrating National Piano Month, and the Sikorovskys, who founded and help run Bravo Waukegan, an instrument-donation organization which Dr. Rasgado-Flores is also a director of. He will be playing original piano compositions with engaging videos, and will also bring along The Mariachi Kids, who will perform at 6:30. A wine and cheese reception will also be going on at this time before his performance at 7:30, so make sure to come early!
