  • Resolutions– presentation by Chief Yancey.
  • Resolution – for the Illinois General Assembly regarding proposed 30% reduction to the Local Government Distributive Fund.

 

VII. COMMITTEE REPORTS/MOTIONS

 

PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE REPORT:

 

  • Motion by Alderman Rivera, seconded by Alderman Koncan to award the 2010 Mowing Program to the low qualified bidder of G & S Services in the amount of $95,654.00
  • Motion by Alderman Newsome, seconded by Alderman Cunningham to authorize the proper City Officials permission to adopt the Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) General Maintenance Resolution #2010-0000-00-GM appropriating the sum of $2,470,000.00, adopt the Motor Fuel Tax General Maintenance Supplemental Resolution 2008 calendar year and also adopt the Motor Fuel Tax General Maintenance Supplement Resolution 2008 calendar year as presented.
  • Motion by Alderman Cunningham, seconded by Alderman Koncan to award the bids for the following 2010/2011 Miscellaneous Materials needed for Public Works as presented, see attached.
  • Motion by Alderman Koncan, seconded by Alderman Cunningham to waive the bid procedure and approve the low quote from Meade Electric of McCook Illinois for the emergency repair of the damaged traffic signal control box located at Lewis Avenue and Ballentine Street, in an amount not to exceed $13,480.00, as presented. The City received the following two quotes.

Home Towne Electric Inc., Lake Villa, Illinois $14,628.00

  • Motion by Alderman Cunningham, seconded by Alderman Newsome to waive the bid procedure and extend the Elevator Contract as presented.
  • Motion by Alderman Cunningham, seconded by Alderman Koncan to draft specification and advertise for bids to re-bid te concrete and flowable fill portion of the annual materials for Public Works.
  • Motion by Alderman Cunningham, seconded by Alderman Koncan to award the bids for the following 2010.2011 Miscellaneous Materials needed for the Water Plan as presented, see attached.

XI. ORDINANCES/RESOLUTIONS

 

  • Ordinance – to reflect a no left turn intersection on Victory Street, at its intersection with Washington Street, for southbound traffic, on school days, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • Ordinance - to reflect no parking from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on school days, on the south side of Jenkinson Court from Butrick Street to a point 130 feet west of the intersection and no parking from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on school days, on the north side of Jenkinson Court from Butrick Street to a point 95 feet west of the intersection.
