The Building Department is responsible for issuing permits and assuring compliance by City residents and builders with the City’s zoning, building and health and sanitation codes. Building permits are required for most new construction and home remodeling projects. Please check with the Waukegan Building Department at (847) 625-6868 prior to starting your project to review your specific needs.

 

BUILDING PERMITS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL BUT MINOR REPAIRS. BEFORE STARTING ANY WORK, PLEASE CONTACT THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT AT (847) 625-6868. THE FOLLOWING IS A PARTIAL LIST OF PROJECTS THAT REQUIRE PERMITS:
