John Jurkovac - Building Commissioner

 

The Code Compliance Department is responsible for insuring compliance by city residents and builders with the city’s zoning, building, health and sanitation codes. This department handles inquiries and complaints relating to these city ordinances and is responsible for administering weed control and mosquito abatement programs.

Code Compliance Officers respond to questions Waukegan residents have about their property, as well as other property in the city. Residents can file complaints regarding zoning code violations, such as storage of inoperable vehicles, recreational vehicles, garbage, and weeds by calling (847) 625-6860, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
