Responses for 2006 The Waukegan Fire
Department reports the summary of incidents responded to during calendar year
2006. This was the busiest year on record in the department’s 158 year
history with 9397 incidents reported to the Illinois Office of the State Fire
Marshal. You can expect a comprehensive breakdown of calls as presented in
the annual report. 21. Federal Grant
Received The Waukegan Fire
Department has received a grant from the Department of Homeland Security
(DHS) through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program. A
full report will be provided at the Public Safety Committee meeting. 22. Operational
Readiness Report Fire Apparatus
Protecting the The Waukegan Fire
Department has submitted a report addressing the overall condition and
readiness of Fire Engine 65 which is stationed a t Fire Station #5 located at
3221 N. Green Bay Road. Fire Station #5 connects directly to the
airport and provides Fire/Rescue emergency services for incoming and outgoing
aircraft as well as the aircraft hangars housing the aircraft. Fire Department
cont.: In addition to maintenance
data, the department’s maintenance supervisor has consulted with the Service
Advisor and Field Inspector for Oshkosh Fire Apparatus who manufactured
Engine 65. This apparatus is also termed an Aircraft Rescue Fire
Fighting (ARFF). |
