The Council of the City of Waukegan met in regular session on Monday, March 5, 2007 at 8:00P.M. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall 100 North Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.  Mayor Hyde, City Clerk, Wayne Motley, and Corporation Counsel, Brian Grach, were present. Pat Dutcher, City Treasurer was absent.

16. Information, Friday March 9, 2007 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, North of Grand Ave the Waukegan Police Explorer Post #420 will have a spaghetti dinner. Saturday March 10, 2007 is the sixth annual Juarez Cup basketball game between the Fire/Police Department fundraising event.  Water Department is doing a fantastic job repairing water lines due to cold weather.

 

ALDERMAN RIVERA

 

 

17. Public Works did an excellent job with the street lights on Greenbay and Route 120.  Thanked Biddy.  Bistro 17 is beautiful, classy business and the food is great, as well. Thanked Mike Jackson for putting together a severe weather warning manual.

18. Thanked Police Department for putting together an excellent document regarding curfew ordinances.  Most active place for a child to be is the Boys/Girls Club.  Put together a packet to give to the schools and ask the principal to make sure it goes home with the children

19. Last Thursday, received a phone call 20 minutes to 8 p.m. regarding back yards flooding on 12th and Fulton.  He contacted the Fire Department for assistance.  Would like to commend the Batallion Chief Farrell, the Water Department, Public Works and Fire Department.

20. We can get Curfew Ordinance information out through school systems.  Home ownership program is a great idea, it’s a way to prevent foreclosure and keep people in their homes.
