ALDERMAN LARSEN

ALDERMEN’S TIME:

ALDERMAN RIVERA

33. Thanked the Waukegan Police Department and the Enforcement Team.  May 1 is World Asthma Day, there will be a guest speaker at the Welcome Center at 6:30 p.m.  He spoke at the Greenwood School last Friday, answered many questions.

ALDERMAN CUNNINGHAM

34.  He wanted to comment on the situation with the young man who barricaded himself with his wife and two children, he was amazed at how well the situation was handled.  He was arrested without any harm.  Appreciates what our officers do to keep us safe.  It was an amazing situation to witness.  I now have a better understanding of our officers.  We need to give our officers what they need.  Chief Biang and Greathouse should be proud of their officers.

ALDERMAN BALEN

35.  A proper attitude is necessary.  We need a better way for our citizens to bring their problems to the Aldermen.  What happened last week was unacceptable.  This is not their personal soap box, it’s getting ridiculous how one man keeps coming before the council every council meeting with the same complaint.

ALDERMAN MOISIO

36.  No Comment.

ALDERMAN FIGUEROA

37.  Harbor Committee Clean-Up for April 18 has been postponed until further notice.  Criminal Damage, a man just put up new siding on his house and it was spray painted.  We should ban the selling of spray paint.  Has talked to several people on the police department and  gang unit  regarding graffiti, we need to get this problem reduced.

ALDERMAN NEWSOME

38.  In regards to loud music, she read an article from a resident in St Petersburg, Florida, who was tired of loud music, so she sued the owner of the vehicle and won.  He has to sell his sound system and pay her lawyer fees.  Neighbors need to turn their music down.

ALDERMAN TENPAS

39.  Loud music is a problem.  Spray painting must be removed at once.  The Fire Department did a great job of putting out a fire in his neighborhood.

ALDERMAN NEEDHAM

40.  Loud music goes hand in hand with nice weather.
