Alderman Needham |
AUDIENCE TIME:
36. Lisa May spoke on beach cleanup. She hopes that the city can keep the beach open this summer. |
Alderman Larsen
37. 1st Friday in June the library will host open air concerts at noon. Indicated that he had nothing to do with the issue of renewing liquor licenses. Wants to have the city return liquor license to Whitmore’s. |
Alderman Rivera |
38. Spoke on gas station liquor licenses and the honest businessmen who respect the liquor license they currently have. If the city takes these liquors licenses from these gas station how will they replace the lost revenue? |
Alderman Cunningham
39. 75% at the work force is due to small businesses. This city is made on back of the mom & pop business. How those city employees were treated when they were released by the city was outrageous. Police officers escorted our employees out of the building. There has to be a better way of doing this.
Alderman Koncan |
40. Commended Lisa May for her efforts at the Waukegan Beach. Hope we can keep the beach open in a safe manner. Embarrassed of the manner which our employees were escorted out of City Hall. Not in favor of removing liquor licenses form gas stations. |
Aldermen Moisio |
41. We need to know how to make an investment grow. Our beach is an investment. It is a destination location. We must re-invest in our city. |
Alderman Figueroa |
42. No comment. |
Alderman Newsome |
43. No comment. |
Alderman TenPas |
44. He supports the liquor licenses in gas stations. These people have made an investment in our community. |
Mayor Sabonjian
EXECUTIVE SESSION
APPROVED
45. Discussed gas station liquor licenses this is an issue of fairness. All of the other gas stations operate without beer and wine licenses. There is a small group of gas station owners who have an advantage over all of the other gas stations by having a liquor license. Why is this not good for all gas stations to have a liquor license?

EXECUTIVE SESSION

45. Discussed gas station liquor licenses this is an issue of fairness. All of the other gas stations operate without beer and wine licenses. There is a small group of gas station owners who have an advantage over all of the other gas stations by having a liquor license. Why is this not good for all gas stations to have a liquor license?
46. Motion by Alderman Newsome, seconded by Alderman Needham to go into Executive Session to discuss Matter of Litigation. TIME: 9:26P.M.
