CHRIS BLANKS

409 OAK ST

20.  Paris Bankhead has spoken before the Council.  Reports sometimes indicate that the young offender may have provoked the assault.  He was not found guilty in court.  Paris had been here over six months ago.  The Police Department states that it will be resolved in 30 days.

ALDERMAN CUNNINGHAM

ALDERMEN’S TIME:

21.  Last week we held over Appointments of Department Heads.  We need performance standards for Department Heads.  Some of the City’s Lawsuits could have been prevented.  If it is in writing it makes everything equal to all involved.  We need to place expectations for our Department Heads.  Department Heads should be held accountable.

ALDERMAN MOISIO

22.  He agrees with Alderman Cunningham.  Sometimes our egos get in our way.  The City, Schools, and Park District need to come together.  We need Sports Feeder Programs in the Schools and Park District.  If you don’t give these kids something to do they will find something to do.

ALDERMAN FIGUEROA

23.  He also, agrees with Alderman Cunningham.  There is a lot of violence in the Hispanic community.  Some people in the Spanish community are very angry.  We must work together to resolve this matter.  Public Works, Code, Fire, and Police worked quickly to minimize the effects of last week’s storm.

ALDERMAN NEWSOME

24.  No Comment.

ALDERMAN TENPAS

25.  Riverwoods Development is looking at a Riverwoods project.

 ALDERMAN NEEDHAM

26.  The City Services did an excellent job during last week’s storm.  Everyone worked together.  Greenwood and Sheridan had some repairs.

ALDERMAN LARSEN

ALDERMEN’S TIME cont.:

27.  The Municipal Band’s summer concert begins Tuesday at the Beach and will be in effect throughout the summer.  Best Wishes for Alderman Balen to get well soon.

ALDERMAN RIVERA

28.  He would like to commend the leadership of the City.  The Police Department did a good job in handling the situation.  The situation on 11th St was a job well done.  We need to put together a task force.  Thanked Main Street for RMC presentation at Genesee Theatre on Saturday.
