ALDERMEN’S TIME:

24. Thanked Public Works for work after storm Friday night. 4th of July Parade next Sunday. Black Hawks win!

Alderman Figueroa

25. Do not go near downed power lines. Good job by Public Works. AON gave a report on the City’s insurance situation as well as future goals. Risk management and work place safety were also addressed at the meeting. The numbers of injuries in this city are extremely high. We need to try to reduce this problem.

Alderman Newsome

26. Noise, summer parties, loud music. We all need to respect our neighbors. Turn the music down. Thursday, June 24 ward meeting at 7:00 at City Hall.

Alderman TenPas

27. No comment.

Alderman Needham

28. Commonwealth Edison.  Residents in his ward check on each other, they do wellness checks. Thanked Public Works. Asked about the beach situation.

Alderman Larsen

ALDERMEN’S TIME cont.:

29. Fire Department did over 100 well being checks during the storm. Thanked Fire Department and Police Department for their hard work. Boosters clean-up from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Aldermen Rivera

30. Thanked Public Works and all of the employees of the City of Waukegan for a great job. Discussed high grass on the foreclosure properties. He picked out 17 homes that need attention. We need to contact the property owners. These properties are making the City look bad. We need to do something. Four feet (4’) of grass is outrageous.

Alderman Cunningham

31.  Place more Code Enforcement Officers on the street in the summer time and inside more often in the winter time. Police and Fire did a great job during last weeks storm. Noise continues to be a problem. Our seniors need relief from these vehicle boom boxes. We need to start towing these vehicles a $500.00 fine will stop these complaints. It was great to hear that Chris Blanks took on the issue of local hiring. Waukegan should be allowed to have a local Hiring Ordinance to take care of our residents. Our city cannot go without a prayer to start our City Council. It makes us talk differently and act differently, it helps calm me. We need a list of people who can begin our Council Meeting with a prayer..
