I.General Assistance Office

This department provides financial assistance to eligible individuals and families to assist in meeting basic living expenses, including the cost of necessary medical care. All income available to the applicant for general assistance must be insufficient to meet the individuals basic maintenance needs as defined by the appropriate General Assistance Payment Level.
Ancillary services such as individual and family counseling, job preparedness and placement, resume writing and agency referrals are also provided.
Waukegan Township also has sixty-one beds allocated to them by Winchester House in Libertyville. Placement is made in numerical order. Patients or representatives should contact the Township Office at 244-4900.II. Assessors Department

In addition, Waukegan Township has a Senior Citizen Services Committee that is responsible for providing services to the Seniors of Waukegan Township.
Funds are also provided to assist other programs that enhance the lives of the older residents. These include Victory Memorial Hospital Adult Day Care at YMCA, R.S.V.P., Senior Shopping Service through Waukegan Park District and the Foss Park District.
