The City of Waukegan provides this website as an enhancement and supplement to the governmental services it provides to its residents and to provide information to the general public.  Staff strives to present current and accurate information on the website but does not guarantee the accuracy or currency of the information posted here.  In the event of a significant difference between the information on the website and official information available at City offices, the office information should prevail.

Notices of regular meetings, special meetings, and public hearings are officially posted in the City Hall lobby and are published in a newspaper having general circulation within the City.  If a notice of a meeting or public hearing is placed on the website, staff does so only to facilitate public access to such information, as a supplement to the legally required methods of posting notices.

Comments on public hearing items that are submitted by e-mail will not automatically become part of the official record of such proceedings.  Persons wishing to comment on public hearing items should attend the public hearing to express themselves in person or submit written comments to the appropriate Board or Commission within the requirements of the law or ordinances of the City.

Staff will attempt to pass along all e-mail correspondence to the intended recipient.  Since computer viruses are spread through attachments to e-mails, no e-mails with attachments will be opened or passed along. Persons submitting e-mail comments or questions should be aware that the City of Waukegan cannot guarantee, nor does it represent, that such communications will remain private or confidential.  Similar to mailed or delivered comments, comments received via e-mail may become subject to public disclosure and/or become part of the disclosure in a civil lawsuit.

This website links to websites of other governmental entities, agencies and other organizations that have a community partnership with the City.  The City of Waukegan will grant linking requests based on this criteria.
