- Waukegan residents may place yardwaste at the curb between March 15 and December 15 for regular weekly collection. Yardwaste will be collected on your normal pick up day along with garbage and recyclables.

 

- Residents may use 30-gallon biodegradable paper bags or their own containers. Plastic bags are strictly prohibited! Yardwaste in plastic bags is not accepted in yardwaste and compost disposal sites. Residents using their own containers must clearly mark the containers “YARDWASTE” with letters a minimum 4 inches high. Containers should be in good shape and have a few small holes in the bottom for drainage. Do not place yardwaste in the dark blue, 96-gallon garbage cart.

 

- Tree branches and brush can also be bundled with biodegradable string or twine for collection. Bundles should not be more than four (4) feet in length, eighteen (18) inches in diameter, or fifty (50) pounds in weight.

 

- All yardwaste bags and containers should weigh no more than fifty (50) pounds to allow one person to lift them into the truck.
